The Wring & AWS relationship

What moving your billing to Wring means for AWS — a page you can forward as-is.

Moving your billing to Wring sometimes raises questions from your AWS account manager or TAM. This page answers them — feel free to forward it as-is.

The short version

Wring is an authorized AWS Distribution Reseller (AWS Partner ID 2229663). The customer routes their billing through Wring using AWS's native billing transfer mechanism: AWS bills Wring for the organization's usage, and Wring invoices the customer. That is the entire change.

What stays exactly the same

  • The organization and its accounts. The customer's AWS Organization, its management account, structure, and policies are untouched. Accounts are never moved into another organization.
  • Workloads and architecture. Nothing is installed, migrated, or changed. The customer keeps deploying, scaling, and rearchitecting as before.
  • Console and tooling access. The customer's teams keep full access to their accounts and AWS tooling.
  • Usage visibility. The customer continues to see their usage at AWS list price in their cost tooling; Wring's access to the accounts is strictly read-only, granted by the customer via cross-account IAM roles they can review and revoke — see the access model.

What changes

  • The payer. From the transfer's start month, AWS invoices Wring for the organization's usage, and Wring invoices the customer (in EUR, on one consolidated invoice).
  • That's it. The billing transfer moves payment responsibility only — it grants no technical access and changes nothing about how the accounts run.

Mechanics AWS will recognize

  • The transfer uses AWS's standard billing-transfer invitation and acceptance flow, accepted by the customer in their own console.
  • It takes effect on the first day of a month, and it ends the same way: at the end of a chosen month, after which AWS bills the customer directly again. There is no migration in either direction.

Beyond billing: AWS partner programs

AWS runs a range of incentive programs for ISVs to encourage deeper engagement as AWS Partners and more solutions built on AWS. Wring helps customers navigate these programs — AWS funding and credits, experts, and partner events — with the paperwork guided end to end. More successful applications, less back-and-forth for everyone involved.

The flexible commitment product

Wring's flexible commitment product is a service offered through the AWS Marketplace. Wring carries insurance that covers the utilization risk if the customer decides they no longer want the commitment — at any point after its guarantee term (30 days or 1 year). The customer gets the commitment discount; the multi-year risk sits with the insurance, not with them and not with AWS.
