Connect your tracker

Turn funding-eligible Jira or Linear tickets into pre-filled AWS credit applications, straight from the issue.

If a Jira issue or Linear ticket describes work that AWS credits could cover — a new workload, a migration, a growth project — Wring can turn it into a ready-to-review credit application without anyone opening Wring first. Connect your tracker once, and funding checks start right on the issue.

Supported trackers

Setup is one-time, done by a workspace owner, and takes about two minutes:

Your dashboard's Connect your tracker page shows which trackers are available for your account.

How it works

  1. Connect once. A workspace owner connects Jira or Linear from Connect your tracker in the Wring dashboard. Wring opens a short dialog that walks through the rest.
  2. An owner approves it. Every new connection lands as "Awaiting approval" until a Wring workspace owner confirms it — the second check that keeps a stray or intercepted code from quietly binding the wrong site or workspace.
  3. Start a check on an issue. In Jira, open the WRING Funding panel on any issue. In Linear, mention @WRING on an issue or delegate it to WRING.
  4. Review and confirm. Wring reads the issue and drafts the application from it. Nothing is ever submitted without you reviewing and confirming first.

Approval is required for every connection

A connected Jira site or Linear workspace only starts working once a Wring workspace owner approves it — connecting alone is not enough.

Before you start

Three things need to be in place once, for any tracker:

  1. A Wring account — you and your team sign in to the Wring dashboard.
  2. A linked AWS account — connected under Credits & Funding → Linked AWS Accounts; Wring reads its usage to fill the application.
  3. A workspace owner — connecting a tracker and approving the resulting connection both require Wring workspace owner access.

Common questions

Who can connect a tracker? Only a Wring workspace owner can start a connection, and only a Wring workspace owner can approve one. Anyone else sees a note pointing them to an owner.

Why does a connection need approval if I already connected it? Connecting proves the tracker side wants in; approving proves the Wring side agrees. Requiring both stops a leaked or reused connect code from binding a site nobody on the Wring side recognizes.

Can I open the original issue from Wring? Each provider's page covers how funding checks link back to the source issue.

A setting I need isn't adjustable. Linear's mention, delegation and label triggers are configurable per connection — see Linear. For anything else, tell us at [email protected].
