Group Deals

Pool your AWS usage with other Wring customers to reach discount terms none of you would reach alone.

AWS's better pricing comes from volume. A private pricing agreement that makes sense at a few million dollars of committed spend is out of reach if you're committing a fraction of that on your own.

Group deals pool the usage of several Wring customers into one commitment per AWS service. If the pool reaches its target volume, Wring negotiates the terms and everyone in the pool gets them — at your own usage level.

How a pool works

Each pool covers one AWS service and has a target volume. You see:

  • How full the pool is — total pooled volume against the target
  • How many companies are in it — a count, never names
  • The savings the pool is aiming for, and the commitment period involved

Joining takes one click. Your contribution is computed from your own synced usage — your annualized spend on that service over the last twelve months — and recorded as it stood when you joined, so the pool's progress is built from real numbers, not estimates.

Joining is a soft commitment

Clicking join is an expression of interest, not a signature. Nothing is charged and nothing binds you at that moment. Wring gets in touch afterwards to walk through what the commitment would actually mean for your account, and the formal step only happens with your agreement.

You can leave a pool again while it's still open. Anyone on your team can join a pool; withdrawing is restricted to the workspace owner, and the dialog shows what your exit does to the pool's fill level before you confirm — the other members are relying on that number.

What you never see, and what nobody sees about you

Pool progress is always aggregate. You see how much volume is pooled and how many companies are participating; you never see which companies, or how much any one of them contributes. The same holds in reverse: nobody in the pool learns your name or your spend.

The stages of a pool

StageWhat it means for you
Opening soonAnnounced with an opening month. You can put yourself on the notify list; joining isn't open yet.
OpenAccepting members. Join, or leave again while it's open.
ConfirmedThe target was reached and terms were negotiated. If you're in the pool, you see the agreed rate and the start date.
ClosedThe pool ended without reaching its target. Commitments are released, nothing happens, and you can ask to be notified when the service comes up again.

If a pool closes below target, that's the end of it — no commitment survives, and you're free to look at 30-day saving plans instead for a commitment that doesn't depend on anyone else.

No pool for the service you need?

Two things you can do from the page:

  • Get notified when a new pool opens — for a specific pool that hasn't opened yet, or for any future pool.
  • Propose a service. Tell Wring which service you'd commit on. Proposals are how pools get created in the first place, and a service several customers ask for is a service that gets a pool.

Open Group deals in your dashboard to see what's currently pooling, or write to [email protected] if you want to talk terms before joining anything.
